New York Pops Performs BY SPECIAL REQUEST with Conductor Steven Reineke Tonight

Tonight, November 14, 2014 at 7:30 PM, The New York Pops orchestra will be the star of the performance at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage. Music Director and Conductor Steven Reineke-described by The New York Times as a "polished, welcoming host" who is "young and vigorous, with a playful attitude"-will lead the orchestra in a highly-anticipated performance featuring a program of popular symphonic classics.

The first half of the program will feature the musicians of The New York Pops, as they perform some of the world's most beloved orchestral masterpieces, including Antonín Dvo?ák's Carnival Overture, Op. 92. Essential Voices USA, under the direction of Judith Clurman, will join the orchestra on selections including "O Fortuna" from Carl Orff's Carmina Burana.

The second half of the program will celebrate three men who at one point called New York their home, and who went on to transform 20th century music: Leonard Bernstein, George Gershwin, and-on the 114th anniversary of his birth-Aaron Copland.

"I'm very excited about this all-orchestral program," says Music Director Steven Reineke. "It's going to be a glorious night of music."

The New York Pops' continues on December 19 and 20th, 2014, 8:00PM, with Kelli and Matthew: Home for the Holidays, a program of seasonal classics and contemporary holiday songs.
