New York Musical Theatre Festival to Present World Premiere of CASTLE WALK, 7/22

NEW YORK MUSICAL THEATRE FESTIVAL (NYMF) and CASTLE WALK THEATRE COMPANY LLC are pleased to announce, as part of the 2013 next link project, the world premiere production of Milton Granger's CASTLE WALK, directed by Richard Stafford. Castle Walk will play a one-week limited engagement at PTC Performance Space (555 West 42nd Street, NY, NY). Performances begin Monday, July 22nd and continue Sunday, July 28th. Opening Night is Monday, July 22nd (8 p.m.).

It's 1938, RKO is making "The Story of Vernon and Irene Castle" with Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, and they've hired Irene Castle herself to be an advisor on the film. Torn between her wish to honor her late husband and the director's desire to bring in the movie on time and under budget, Irene sifts through a lifetime of memories - and some of the most romantic dance sequences ever created.

The production stars Lynne Wintersteller* (Bdwy: A Grand Night For Singing, Drama Desk Nominee for Closer Than Ever) as Irene, James Clow* (Bdwy: Irving Berlin's White Christmas, Assassins (Revival)) as H.C. Potter, Bret Shuford* (Bdwy: Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Beauty and the Beast) as Vernon, Wayne W. Pretlow* (Bdwy: The Civil War) as Walter Ash, Stephanie Rothenberg* (Bdwy: How to Succeed...) as Young Irene and Mia Michelle McClain as Diane and the ensemble includes: May-Elise Martinsen, Ashley Chasteen (Tour: Catch if You Can), Lauren Sprague* (Tour: La Cage Aux Folles), Jonathan Stahl* (WBDT: NINE (starring Bob Cuccioli)), Jesse Factor* (Tour: Cats) and Chris Kane (ranked 3rd nationally in professional ballroom dance Theater Arts genre). *Member of Actors' Equity Association

The production features scenic and props design by Victor Lukas, costume design by Loren Shaw, and lighting and projection design by Gertjan Houben. Jonathan Stahl is the associate director/choreographer, and Lily Perlmutter is the stage manager. General management by Justin Huebener/JPHP.
