Fans of musical theatre and movie musicals everywhere have a new must-listen podcast which has just dropped its first full-length episode on iTunes. Every Musical Ever promises to 'go Over The Rainbow, Into The Woods and On The Town to where the Company is Wicked'.

The concept of Every Musical Ever is simple - each month, host Richard Carroll discusses a different musical with smart and hilarious guests. Each musical will get an in-depth going-over from the panel - from deconstructing the minutiae of the plot to fangirling over the songs, reminiscing about the impact of the musical on their lives, and interrogating the unanswered questions they've always wanted resolved.

"I'm a complete podcast nut, and spend dozens of hours a week listening to them," says Carroll, who also produces and hosts Hayes Theatre Co's monthly podcast At The Hayes. "Given how many dedicated fans of musicals there are out there, I'm surprised there have been very few podcasts out there catering for this audience. But I'm excited to be launching a show that I hope they will love."

The first episode, which is available for free download worldwide now on iTunes, features guests David Campbell and Lisa Campbell discussing the smash-hit musical Les Miserables. According to Carroll: "Les Mis was an obvious choice for our first episode. I wanted a musical that had widespread appeal, and I didn't have to go far for the perfect guests - David and Lisa are long-time friends and colleagues of mine, and our conversations about musicals are always wide-ranging, nerdy, and at times - um, animated! Plus of course David was Marius in the 10th anniversary production of Les Mis in Australia, so he had an inside scoop."

The second episode, due in February, features Carroll and Virginia Gay discussing Funny Girl. Other upcoming guests include Mitchell Butel and Tom Sharah.

Richard Carroll is a theatre director, producer and writer based in Sydney. He hosts the podcasts At The Hayes for Hayes Theatre Co, and Every Musical Ever. In 2016 he directed the Australian premiere of Side Show at Hayes Theatre Co, and in 2017 he will direct a reimagined production of Calamity Jane, also at the Hayes. Producing credits include Sweet Charity, Miracle City, High Society, Britney Spears: The Cabaret, and An Evening with Megan Mullally. Writing credits include Everybody Loves Lucy, Don't Bother To Knock, and ¡Hispanic Attack!
