Beautiful Evening Productions in association with Love Creek Productions will present the worldwide premiere of a new play, FIDDLIN' N' BURNIN' by Paul Buzinski. FIDDLIN' N' BURNIN' was a 2002 finalist in the Samuel French Off-Off Broadway Play Festival. FIDDLIN' N' BURNIN' will be presented at the American Theatre of Actors, 314 West 54th Street, in the Sargent Theatre March 8th - 26th.

FIDDLIN' N' BURNIN' follows bad tempered man child Billy as he is released from prison, determined to parlay the training he received into a career as a pastry chef and start his own business. Eagerly awaiting Billy's return is his sweetheart, Baby, well-intentioned but up to her ears in debt. Her attempts to cover up her debt before Billy returns, however, are compromised as Congress has just passed the Banking Resolution 1441 which makes it legal for credit companies to exterminate delinquent payers. Some unpleasant visits from Vista Man, a rejected bid for a business license, and a batch of burned pancakes later finds Billy on his way to purchase an assault weapon, luckily still legal because of new NRA drafted legislation. The fiery and inadvertent conclusion is covered by the local news team as well as protesters from left, right, and center. Buzinski combines satire with a sprinkling of melodrama to create a fast-paced comedy that is right in step with our country's politically charged atmosphere.

Paul Buzinski's work has been described by the California Times Standard as "spirited, insightful writing,,, (with) characters that outsmart each other at every turn". Several of Buzinski's one acts, including BLINDERS and CHURCH MUSIC, have been finalists in previous Samuel French Festivals. His play ON THE CLOCK premiered in NYC in 2002, and DINNER PARTY received a successful production at the 2003 Mountain Festival in Phoenicia, NY. Mr. Buzinski's full length play, CAREFREE DRIVE, was picked to be part of the Plays-In-Progress series at the World Premier Theater in California where it received rave reviews from the California Times Standard, The Beacon, and Barry Blake (of This Seats Taken). Mr. Buzinski has studied playwriting at Playwright's Horizons and developed work at the Writer's Workshop at the Vital Theatre and studied and performed improv-comedy with Chicago's Second City Theatre, as well as making the rounds on the stand-up circuit in Manhattan.

FIDDLIN' N' BURNIN' will be directed by Merry Beamer. The cast features Alex Goldberg, Allan Hasnas, Jackie Jenkins, Paul Kawecki, Mark Kinch Teri Monahan, Ellen Reif, David Silberger, and Kymm Zuckert. The production stage manager is Liz Forst, lighting designer is Connor McGibbony, sets designed by Viola Bradford, costume designer Winni Troha, sound designer is Art Wallace, and 'Pudge's Jingle' is performed by Vicki Weidman.
