According to a new online listing, tickets are now available for three special encore performances of currently-running Broadway comedy THE NANCE, starring Nathan Lane, which apparently will be filmed for upcoming TV presentation as part of long-standing PBS series LIVE FROM LINCOLN CENTER.

In THE NANCE, Lane portrays a burlesque performer in the 1930s who plays onstage a theatrical trope known as the title figure of the nance, an effeminate caricature, and the story of the show centers upon his character's relationship with a man he meets at an automat and how the anti-burlesque and anti-homosexual laws of NYC mayor Fiorello La Guardia affect them all.

The three filmed performances are set to take place after the show's closing on August 11, with three encore performances on August 13 and 14.

THE NANCE was written by Douglas Carter Beane and directed by Jack O'Brien. The current Broadway production stars Nathan Lane, Cady Huffman, Jonny Orsini and Lewis J. Stadlen. The play recently received five 2013 Tony Award nominations, including Best Actor.

THE NANCE plays at the Lyceum Theatre on Broadway now through August 11. More information is available at the official site here.

Of note, we have reached out to PBS but have not yet received an official confirmation on the filming at this time.
