According to her official Facebook page, Broadway veteran Melissa Errico will be soon be undergoing a surgery to repair a blood vessel on her vocal chord. Just last month, Errico had to depart the Classic Stage Company production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Passion to go on vocal rest.

She writes: "Best you hear it from me first. I am going to have a laser procedure to repair a blood vessel on my vocal cord. I am under the care of Dr Steven Zeitels in Boston. I am confident I will make a full recovery, and I am motivated to sing again soon. Thanks to all who have written with your concern and support. I appreciate it immensely. I am optimistic, and truly believe I will be stronger than ever."

Melissa Errico has starred in seven Broadway musicals and released two major solo cds: Blue Like That (EMI) and Lullabies and Wildflowers (VMG/Universal). In 2003, Melissa won a Tony-nomination for Best Leading Actress in the Broadway musical AMOUR, composed by multi-Oscar-winning composer Michel Legrand (Yentl), her musical idol, who went on to orchestrate and conduct a 100-piece symphony for the recording of Legrand Affair produced by Phil Ramone, which was released October 18th 2011.

During the summer of 2011, Melissa co-starred with Alec Baldwin in GIFT OF THE GORGON by Peter Shaffer, and reprised CAMELOT with Jeremy Irons for one-night only on Broadway at The Shubert Theater. She recently starred in Classic Stage Company's Passion and has appeared in sold out concerts at both 54 Below and Joe's Pub.
