Country music star/Golden Globe nominee Reba McEntire ("Reba") and Tony Award winner Brian Stokes Mitchell (Kiss Me, Kate) will reunite this summer for three concerts of South Pacific at the Hollywood Bowl. Mitchell and McEntire previously performed the lead roles of Rodgers and Hammerstein's musical in concert at Carnegie Hall, a production that was broadcast of PBS and released on CD by Decca Broadway. McEntire and Mitchell will reprise their roles August 3, 4 at 8:30 PM and August 5 at 7:30 PM. The production will be directed by David Lee and feature Paul Gemignani conducting the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra.

South Pacific, inspired by James Michener's Tales from the South Pacific and featuring songs  by legendary songwriting duo Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II (The King and I, The Sound of Music, Oklahoma!) starred Mary Martin and Ezio Pinza in the initial Broadway Production, and in 1958 South Pacific was made into an Oscar-winning movie.

Reba McEntire has sold over 60 million records as a country music superstar and has scored at least one top 40 country single every year for 28 years. She had a notable role in horror film Tremors, played the title role in Annie Get Your Gun on Broadway, and starred in the hit TV sitcom "Reba." She recently has done voiceover work, including Betsy the Cow in the 2006 Charlotte's Web remake.

Brian Stokes Mitchell is one of the leading stars on Broadway today. His baritone has graced Ragtime, Man of LaMancha, Kiss of the Spider Woman, and recently Kismet. He was also the lead role in the Kennedy Center revival of Sweeney Todd, and has appeared on "Roots" and Frasier."

The Hollywood Bowl is in Hollywood, CA, at 2301 N. Highland Avenue. Tickets range $7-$147 and are available at www.hollywoodbowl.com.
