Marriott Marquis Will Host Industry-Wide Bone Marrow Drive Today

On Saturday, February 28 (3-7PM) the Marriott Marquis Hotel will host an industry-wide Bone Marrow Drive, organized by theatre professional Kyle Bonder. Kyle writes:

For those of you who are not aware, about 2 years ago my life totally changed when my mother was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia.

Needless to say she, my sister and I were completely overwhelmed and terrified. We rallied an incredible medical team who explained that stem cell transplant was virtually the only chance for a cure. My mom had her transplant about a year and a half ago and while she has not been cured just yet, she is doing very well and we have all become overly aware of the amazing opportunity that transplant can provide for many patients.

That said, I am holding a bone marrow drive to support the amazing organization Delete Blood Cancer.

I realize that the concept of a bone marrow drive, as well as the prospect of actually making a donation, sounds scary. At the drive itself, potential donors will complete a registration form and do a simple cheek swab to enter themselves into the bone marrow registry. The process is completely painless and only takes 10 - 15 minutes. Please see the flyer attached for more information.
