Broadway performer, M.T. Smith (@AuthorMTSmith) is releasing the first book of his 5-part dark fantasy novel series, Cry The Fables.

Cry The Fables tells the story of a mentally disturbed children's book author named Malcolm who dances the line between reality and the dream world of fairytales he calls Not Kansas. When a devastating accident leaves him in a coma, this once so magical world is plunged into an unspeakable Darkness. Upon waking, Malcolm eagerly returns to Not Kansas, only to find himself in the throes of a Fairytale Holocaust, where an envious army of his Unfinished tales--tales without stories of their own--have brought death upon his beloved creations.

Book One, Cry The Fables: Glimpse, is available NOW on Kindle at Amazon.com and on other online platforms and paperback on November 13, 2015. The interactive website, www.CryTheFables.com, features a movie-style book trailer, behind-the-scenes photographs of the film shoot, audiobook excerpts read by Broadway veteran, Christopher Shyer, music from the book's soundtrack featuring Broadway newcomer, Nichole Turner links for CTF affiliates, and pre-order information. In addition, on September 19, 2015 the book will be available for free download on Kindle for ONE day.

"As a fan of series like Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and His Dark Materials, I thoroughly enjoyed this story. The characters are rich, the relationships have a believable heart and the world is very well imagined. I can't wait to find out what happens [next]...," said Krissy Lenz, Director of National Comedy Theater, Phoenix. Diana Wakefield, a voracious Tempe-reader boasts, "[Cry The Fables is] Driving, character-rich, panoramic...a marvelously boisterous, suspense packed entertainment. Psychologically complex characters, fast pace, a very satisfying read."

M.T. Smith is a freelance writer and currently performing in the National Tour of The Book of Mormon. He studied Musical Theatre at the University of Arizona, where he also received a B.A in Linguistics, and received his MFA in Acting from the Actors Studio Drama School in New York City.
