According to this morning's New York Post, John Lithgow will be cast to lead a coming Broadway revival of Arthur Miller's All My Sons. No further details on cast, theatre or dates were announced.

Lithgow, a Tony Award-winning actor (Sweet Smell of Success – Best Actor in a Musical, The Changing Room – Best Featured Actor in a Play) most recently appeared opposite Norbert Leo Butz in Broadway's Dirty Rotten Scoundrels at the Imperial Theatre.  He was also Tony-nominated for his work in M. Butterfly, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Requiem for a Heavyweight.

Opening January 29, 1947 at the Coronet Theatre, All My Sons tells the story of Joe Keller, a middle-aged self-made man who, in a rush to meet an Army order, consciously sells faulty airplane parts that later lead to the death of 21 soldiers. To escape the consequences, Joe frames his business partner for the crime. At the cusp of his son's marriage to his partner's daughter, the truth unravels before him. Like the theme of other Miller plays, All My Sons dissects the rewards of the American Dream.

The play garnered the 1947 Tony Award for Best Author and Best Director (Elia Kazan). In 1987 it was adapted for the big-screen, starring Burt Lancaster and Edward G. Robinson. The 1987 Broadway revival featured Richard Kiley.
