Lincoln Center today announced the programming for its 2011-2012 Great Performers series-the 46th anniversary season of distinguished presentations of classical music artists and ensembles. Renowned international orchestras, chamber ensembles, instrumentalists and vocal artists will perform repertoire ranging from the Baroque and Classical to 20th-century and new works in Avery Fisher Hall, Alice Tully Hall and the Walter Reade Theater from October 2011 through May 2012.

Jane Moss, Lincoln Center's Vice President of Programming said, "The upcoming season of Great Performers affirms the central role of classical works and artists in Lincoln Center's programming. The return of treasured favorites such as Sir Colin Davis leading the London Symphony Orchestra, the Emerson String Quartet, and Murray Perahia, paired with the debuts of several compelling artists-including the innovative Britten Sinfonia and dazzling soprano Anna Caterina Antonacci-reflect the series core mission.

The "Art of the Song" series celebrates its 25th anniversary, and we're delighted to welcome back several artists who made their New York debuts with us, especially the incomparable Thomas Quasthoff." Complemented by the newly launchEd White Light and Tully Scope Festivals, the 2011-2012 season will be an extraordinarily rich and rewarding one."
