Lauren Kennedy Confirmed As Spamalot's New Lady Of The Lake

Lauren Kennedy will join the cast of MONTY PYTHON'S SPAMALOT as The Lady of the Lake on December 20, 2005. As announced previously, Simon Russell Beale will assume the role of King Arthur on the same date.

Ms. Kennedy recently starred as Nellie Forbush in Trevor Nunn's revival of South Pacific at London's Royal National Theatre.  Her Broadway credits include Les Misérables, Sunset Boulevard (also on National Tour), Side Show as Daisy Hilton and Cinderella at The New York City Opera.  She.  Her other notable credits include Hot Shoe Shuffle directed by David Atkins, Irving Berlin's White Christmas written and produced by Paul Blake, The Rhythm Club (Helen Hayes Awards nomination) directed by Eric Schaeffer and The Last Five Years written by Jason Robert Brown and directed by Daisy Prince.  

MONTY PYTHON'S SPAMALOT, Broadway's Tony Award winning Best Musical, continues to break house records at the Shubert Theatre (225 West 44th Street). In addition to the 2005 Tony Award for Best Musical, SPAMALOT also received the 2005 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Musical, and the 2005 Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Musical. In addition, to the Tony Award for Best Musical, SPAMALOT received the Tony Award for Best Direction of a Musical (Mike Nichols) and Best Featured Actress in a Musical (Sara Ramirez).

SPAMALOT features a book and lyrics by Eric Idle, music by John Du Prez and Eric Idle, direction by Mike Nichols, choreography by Casey Nicholaw and is based on the screenplay of Monty Python and the Holy Grail by Monty Python creators Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin, with an entirely new score with two songs from the 1975 film.

The Original Broadway cast recording of MONTY PYTHON'S SPAMALOT is currently available on Decca Broadway. The Millennium Broadway Hotel is the official hotel of SPAMALOT.
