This weekend get your fill of Theater, Musical Theater, and Dance at three great productions: Triple Shadow continues at LaMaMa E.T.C. through November 4th, Korhan Basaran Dance at Ailey Citigroup Theatre, and Downtown Music Productions in Harold Rome's PINS AND NEEDLES.

Triple Shadow's new production, 2 FROM THE SEA, is comprised of solo adaptations of two plays whose themes are based on stories of the sea: Dylan Thomas's radio play A HOLIDAY MEMORY, performed by Seamus Maynard; and John Millington Synge's RIDERS TO THE SEA, performed by Mari Andrejco. Musician/vocalist Edward Herbst sings traditional Celtic songs and performs his original music live on mandolin, harmonium and toy piano. Director is Beth Skinner; lighting design is by Paul Clay (RENT) and scenic design is by Jun Maeda. The show runs through November 4th - Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7:30 pm; Sundays at 2:30 pm. Korhan Basaran Dance will present A KIN DOF BEAU TY, a program of new and repertory Barasan works, just prior to the Company's tour to Istanbul. Music ranges from Philip Glass to traditional Turkish music by Ilhan Mimaroglu, a major composer in the world of electronic music, and popular Turkish composer Fazil Say. The program runs on Saturday October 27 at 7:30 pm.

Ailey Citigroup Theater is located at 405 West 55 Street.

Downtown Music Productions repeats its successful concert version of Harold Rome's 1937 witty satire PINS AND NEEDLES, music direction by Mimi Stern-Wolfe, stage direction by Jonathan Cerullo. With its critically acclaimed score and lyrics, PINS AND NEEDLES is a unique call for social justice and equity, with songs and skits that spoofed everything from Fascist European dictators to bigots in the DAR. Harold Rome went on to write WISH YOU WHERE HERE, FANNY, DESTRY RIDES AGAIN, and I CAN GET IT FOR YOU WHOLESALE. Show times are on Saturday October 27 at 10 pm and Sunday October 28 at 5:30 pm.
