LEAP OF FAITH's Krystal Joy Brown Set for Broadway Call at XL Nightclub Tonight, 8/13

XL Nightclub presents its new weekly show "Broadway Call" with nightlife host Marti Gould Cummings tonight, August 13th. The show will begin with an old fashioned-musical theatre sing along and happy hour at 7pm followed by live performances by Cummings and a new weekly guest at 9pm. The concert is a free event.

Tonight's August 13th performance of Broadway Call will feature Leap of Faith, Hair, and Rent star Krystal Brown.

Some oF Brown's favorite credits include, Ornella in Leap Of Faith (Broadway), Mimi in the Broadway National tour of Rent. She has been fortunate enough to work with the likes of some multiple Tony Award-winning directors and writers, such as Diane Paulus in the recent revival of HAIR on Broadway as Dionne/Abe Lincoln, the outstanding Kathleen Marshall in Calvin Berger and starred Off-Broadway at the York Theater as Eve in Falling for Eve written by Joe DiPietro (Memphis). She starred in the Nickelodeon TV Pilot Storyforia! She has been seen on ABC’s TV show Castle as Sasha as well as national commercials and magazines.

Krystal started off singing gospel and opera, she studied classical guitar and piano at the Duke Ellington School of Music. At the young age seven, she was a lead soloist performing at the Kennedy Center with the Washington Performing Arts Societies “Children Of The Gospel” Choir, where she worked with gospel legends such as Stephanie Mills, Cece & Vicki Winans, and Richard Smallwood. At sixteen she created a band and took her music global and toured Europe doing fusion Jazz/Funk at the North Seaand Montreux Jazz festivals. Krystal continued her studies a the American Musical and Dramatic Academy before reaching her dreams of Broadway.

Though she loves performing on stage and screen, another one of her passions is creating music. As an up and coming songwriter with her first world release track in collaboration with BetaTraXx, just released this last spring, called “Shufflin’ and Lookin’ Dumb” which is getting national and international radio play. She is currently collaborating with pop, dance and hip-hop artist on new music soon to be released worldwide.

Nightlife host Marti Gould Cummings will be MC'ing the happy hour sing along from 7-9pm before hosting the live talk show and musical performance portion of the evening from 9pm-10pm.

Marti Gould Cummings is a Glammy Award nominated comedian, recording artist, nightlife personality. His debut single "Real Girl", written by RoBert Williamson and William Waldrop is currently available on itunes. In addition to his music he is a comedian who host weekly shows at New World Stages, The Ritz, Barracuda, and XL Nightclub as well as being a regular performer at Lavo and Industry. Marti has appeared on television in hit shows for NBC and LOGO as well as interview countless celebrities for his online talk series.

XL Nightclub is open 7 days a week and is located at The OUT NYC on 42nd Street and 10th Avenue.
