Kate Bosworth has teamed up on another fashion collaboration, this time with Matisse Footwear. Bosworth has spent the past six months developing her first footwear collection and hopes to debut it at retailers like Nordstrom, Revolveclothing.com and Madison in March.

"The truth is, shoes have to be wearable and functional," Bosworth told WWD. "There are some women who wear 7-inch stilettos and run around. That's not me. That's not the collection. I want to feel comfortable and also very fashionable in my life."

Each shoe design is inspired by Bosworth's life from her breakout film "Blue Crush" to her predilection for the Dallas Cowboys. "Each pair has a story," she said. "I feel I can express myself with a hint instead of screaming for attention."

Matisse was launched 13 years ago by Seychelles Footwear cofounder. The vibe is contemporary with a little rockin-n-role country. Bosworth's capsule collection for the company will retail for $300-$500, whereas their regular collection ranges from $139-$300.

Matisse is hoping Bosworth's name will help spread the word of their growing brand. "With Kate's name attached and the aesthetic of the collection, which is definitely an offshoot of what we're doing, there are more editorial pieces and there's a richer feeling in general," said Sheena Parks, Matisse's director of marketing, who declined to disclose sales targets. "We already have plans in the think tank for fall 2015."
