According to the Hollywood Reporter, Julie White--who was acclaimed for her turn as a ambitious agent in the Off-Broadway hit The Little Dog Laughed--will strol down Wisteria Lane to join the cast of "Desperate Housewives."

White will first appear on the steamy primetime favorite on the May 21st second season finale episode. Her role--which will be of some importance to the series' elaborate plotlines--will involve her in some way with Kyle McLachlan's character Orson.

ABC's Desperate Housewives, which is one of TV's highest rated shows, concerns sex in suburbia and features Teri Hatcher, Marcia Cross, Eva Longoria, Felicity Huffman and Nicollette Sheridan in the title roles. It airs from 9 to 10 PM on Sundays.

White played cutthroat agent Diane in Douglas Carter Beane's The Little Dog Laughed at Second Stage; the Hollywood satire is also Broadway-bound. White's Broadway credits include The Heidi Chronicles, while she has been seen Off-Broadway in plays including Dinner with Friends and Spike Heels, and in films such as What Women Want.
