Join a Song Writing Class With Drew Gasparini Join a master class with the award-winning musical theatre composer and lyricist, Drew Gasparini. The class will focus on writing an "I AM"/"I WANT" song for a musical. Examples of this are "Waving Through A Window" from Dear Evan Hansen, "What Baking Can Do" from Waitress, "The Wizard and I" from Wicked, "Part Of Your World" from The Little Mermaid, and "Go The Distance" from Hercules.

They will create a character: Name, gender, occupation, livelihood, background, etc, and in groups we will take all this knowledge and each group will collaborate to write an AABA formula "I AM or I WANT" song together.

Drew Gasparini is as committed to nurturing the next generation of performers as he is to showcasing his own work. He has been invited to lead master classes at schools across the country, including Boston Conservatory, The Growing Studio, PACE University, Cap21, and A.C.T. in San Francisco. Visit thedrewgasparini.com for more.

Leorah Haberfield is the director of A Time to Shine and is excited to give the talented youth a songwriting opportunity.
