John Lloyd Young Extends Jersey Boys Contract

According to his blog, Tony Award-winner John Lloyd Young has extended his contract in Jersey Boys.

He writes (alongside a very cute picture of a worn out toddler, thus the reference): "Toddlers across the country are exhausted from worrying that today was my last performance in Jersey Boys.  The next time your toddler demands you play 'Sherry' for the fifth time in a row, tell her John Lloyd Young is supposed to come back for a several-month extension after a well-deserved two-week vacation, starting tomorrow."  Michael Longoria, Matthew Scott and Dominic Nolfi have been playing Frankie Valli in Young's absence.

Young, who won a Tony for his work in Jersey Boys, has also performed in Summer of the Swans at the Lucille Lortel Theatre and The Drawer Boy at Paper Mill Playhouse. In addition to the Tony, he also won Theatre World and Drama Desk Awards for his work in Jersey Boys.

Jersey Boys, currently running at the August Wilson Theatre, is the Tony Award-winning story of the Four Seasons. Directed by Des McAnuff, it also stars Daniel Reichard, J. Robert Spencer and Tony Award-winner Christian Hoff.   Jersey Boys features music by Bob Gaudio, lyrics by Bob Crewe, and a book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice.
