John Chatterton's Short Play Lab Series Concludes Current Season with 12 New Plays

John Chatterton's celebrated Short Play lab series concludes its current season with a dozen hot topics in two programs over one weekend. This weekend, Saturday & Sunday at Roy Arias Theaters will be the premiere a final set of 12 new short plays before beginning the festivities that is the 15th Anniversary Season of THE MIDTOWN INTERNATIONAL THEATRE FESTIVAL.

The Short Play Lab is two programs of 10 minute plays - some are preambles to larger works while others are Serling-esque parables that are subject for our approval.

Program A: Sat. 7 pm and Sun. 4 pm

The Messenger written and directed by Jeff S. Dailey
An ancient Sumerian poem shows the actions of a princess when she discovers her lover is dead.

The Prodigal One by Anthony Darden
A classic tale of sibling rivalry is complicated by a mother's dementia. Emotions erupt as a brother and sister come to terms with change and loss.

Strangers in the Night by Marine Sialelli
