Joe's Pub Presents Edith Beale Live at Reno Sweeney 5/2

For an entirely different evening of entertainment, Gerald Duval's "Edith Beale Live at Reno Sweeney," will be performed at one of New York's most respected and venerable entertainment establishments, Joe's Pub at the Public Theater on Sunday, May 2 at 7:00 p.m.
Many have seen the recent HBO special "Grey Gardens," and have knowledge about Edith Beale, however, "Edie Beale Live at Reno Sweeney," recreates the now infamous nightclub performance of Ms. Beale, of Grey Garden's fame, in New York City in 1978. The one "woman" show is a thrilling and lively production that uses dialogue, songs and text from the historic event and conversations to enthrall and amuse the audience-and is guaranteed to be a funny, touching and entertaining evening for all."Little Edie" just couldn't stay away from the Big Apple," said Jeffrey Johnson, artistic director of Ganymede. "Whether she's at her beloved Grey Gardens or at Joe's Pub, wherever she goes, her show has been received with open arms and the welcome of a first-rate celebrity. She couldn't be more excited to be back!"Written by Duval, who managed and produced a cabaret act by Edith Beale, the show recreates the essence of those magical nights at the New York City nightclub using dialogue, songs, and text from the historic event and conversations that took place following the 1978 appearance. This special engagement run stars Ganymeade's artistic director, Jeffrey Johnson as Beale. Also in the cast are Michael Winstead and Keith Tittermary.The show will be performed on Sunday, May 2 at 7 p.m. at Joe's Pub located at 425 Lafayette Street, New York, N.Y. 10003.
