The EMGCollective/Singers Forum AEA Scholarship Program, sponsor of the Songbook Project, is proud to announce the last Songbook Project program of the year, The Holiday Project, conceived and directed by Eric Michael Gillett.

Musical Director: Alvin Hough, Jr. (The Color Purple, Motown, Memphis) will lead Broadway stars Karen Akers (Grand Hotel, Nine and Tony Nominee, Theater World Award Winner), Kelli Barrett (Doctor Zhivago, Wicked, The Royal Family), Jarrod Spector (Jersey Boys, Beautiful-The Carol King Musical and Tony Nominee), KT Sullivan (Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, 3 Penny Opera) and Stephane Duret (Kinky Boots) in and evening of song to benefit Benjamin House, a home for mentally disabled adults in Elizabeth City, NC. Also featured are Singers Forum/AEA Scholarship Program members in this evening of songs devoted to the holidays, hope, faith, family and gratitude. Former Songbook Project composers, Mike Pettry (The Light Princess, Things I Left on Long Island), Dan Furman (The Proust Project, Impossible but True) and 2015 John Wallowitch Award Recipient Patrick Dwyer will also be saluted. "Patrick Dwyer's songs will also be the basis of the next EMGCollective/Singers Forum project," says Gillett, "and we're quite excited about that." This upcoming revue is entitled 30-Whatever, and is set to open at the Laurie Beechman Theatre in January 2017.

The Singers Forum is a not-for-profit organization, founded in 1978, dedicated to the development and appreciation of the vocal arts for individuals of any age or level of experience and from all walks of life. Singers Forum is built on the philosophy of personal achievement and artistic development through vocal training, performance and community service. It is unique among the professional training schools in the city because it offers year-round classes for the emerging artist as well as the recreational singer in all styles of vocal performance.

Benjamin House is an assisted-living residence for the mentally challenged, offering residents viable non-transient lifestyle options while strengthening their ties with family, church and community. Benjamin House is a "Beacon of Hope" whose mission statement is "Helping the Mentally Challenged with Life." Each resident has an individualized daily and weekly plan or program where goals are worked toward the achievement of their highest potential.
