Jon Spano's Joey Variations: A Play With Dance makes its World Premiere at the 20th annual New York International Fringe Festival.

Performances play VENUE #6: The Theater at the 14th Street Y, 344 East 14th Street, NYC 10003: MON 8/15 9:00PM; WED 8/17 4:30PM; FRI 8/19 10:00PM; SUN 8/21 8:00PM and TUE 8/23 6:15PM.

In a poetic and inspirational new play combining text and dance, Joey Variations brazenly explores the human connections that transform adversity into triumph. Joey: a gifted contemporary dancer whose secret fuels his addiction. Rita: The transgendered therapist whose counsel may save his life. Svetlana: the artistic director who employs him despite better judgment. Three diverse lives brush against darkness to find the light. Run time: 62 minutes.
