INTERVIEWING FOR THE ROLE OF FATHER to Make Hollywood Fringe Debut

Interviewing for the Role of Father will be presented at the Hollywood Fringe. The play is a 90 minute two-hander exploring the questions we are too afraid to ask our dying loved ones. Performances will run Sunday, June 7, 2026, Friday, June 12, 2026, Saturday, June 20, 2026, Tuesday, June 23, 2026, Sunday, June 28, 2026.

Filmmaker Saph Thompson has been building a year long documentary interviewing her terminally ill father: They talk about his homeland of Trinidad, various careers, loves and losses. However, she also has something she needs to say: She's Trans. In a valiant attempt at exposure therapy, Saph hopes to build a better memory of the absent dad in front of her.

This play is a 2026 Hollywood Fringe Festival Scholarship Recipient and will be performed at the Bad Ladder Theater. This production was funded by Hollywood Pantages Theatre and County Supervisor Lindsey P Horvath.

The cast features Xander Priddie and Hardia Madden. The creative team includes director and writer Xander Priddie, assistant director Sophi Joan Boylan, design consultant Mary Nightingale-Grey, co-producers Xander Priddie and Sophi Joan-Boylan, and photo credit Teolindo Studios. The production will take place at Bad Ladder Theater, located at 1514 N Gardner St, Los Angeles, CA 90046.
