Gay Grimms, a finalist in the Stages 2007 competition in Chicago, is a new musical about Jackie and Leon, the Cousins Grimm, adapting their ancestors' beloved stories and adding a queer sensibility to them. Jackie is a celebrated lesbian composer/solo artist. Leon asks her to work with him and she impulsively agrees. Strange and magical things begin to happen as their versions of the tales come to life; including a mysterious and surprising twist to their creative collaboration.

The libretto is written by Ted Sod, who will also direct. Sod wrote the screenplay for the film Crocodile Tears, which is based on his play, Satan and Simon DeSoto. Music is composed by Dan Martin and lyrics are written by Michael Biello. Biello and Martin wrote the musical Breathe, which ran at Chicago's Bailiwick Theatre. Musical direction is by Mark Janas (Talk Of The Town).

The cast includes: Klea Blackhurst (Bingo, Everthing The Traffic Will Allow), Heidi Blickenstaff (title of show), Jonathan Brody (Titanic, Naked Boys Singing), Ann Harada (Avenue Q), Jillian Louis (Gemini, the musical), Randy Redd (Ring Of Fire, Parade) and Devin Richards (Pajama Game, 110 In The Shade).
