Guthrie Presents Target Play Dates for Kids

In partnership with Target, the Guthrie is proud to announce the return of the wildly-popular Target Play Dates for the 2008-09 season. These free theater workshops for kids ages 4 to 11, combined with reduced-price $15 theater tickets, create an afternoon of Guthrie fun the entire family can enjoy. Guthrie actor and educator Isabell Monk O'Connor leads the kids' programming coinciding with select Wednesday and Saturday matinee performances throughout the season. Tickets for the next six Target Play Dates go on sale Wednesday, July 16 through the Guthrie Box Office in-person or by phone at 612.377.2224, toll-free 877.44.STAGE. Target Play Date tickets are not available online.

Register little ones, ages 4 – 11, for one of these free theater workshops. While the youngsters head upstairs to the Guthrie Learning Center for an afternoon of fun classes taught by popular artists, the rest of the family can enjoy a performance on one of the Guthrie stages. In addition to a day of arts-centered fun and learning, snacks and goodie bags from Target and the Guthrie are provided to each workshop participant. It's the perfect way to share the experience of live theater with the whole family.

    * Saturday, September 27 at 1 p.m. – A View from the Bridge
    * Saturday, September 6 at 1 p.m. – Little House on the Prairie
    * Saturday, October 25 at 1 p.m. – A View from the Bridge
    * Saturday, November 15 at 1 p.m. – Shadowlands
    * Wednesday, December 3 at 1 p.m. – Shadowlands

Tickets for the remaining Target Play Dates in the 2008-09 season go on sale January 7, 2009.
