January marks a decade of Geva productions in the Nextstage. To celebrate this landmark, Geva is proud to announce its production of Underneath the Lintel by Glen Berger.

Opening on February 5 and running through March 7, Underneath the Lintel features a sole character, a librarian, who embarks on a quest to find out who anonymously returned a library book that is 113 years overdue. This quest takes him on a scavenger hunt across five continents and dozens of cities to discover if the borrower is alive.

Underneath the Lintel was first produced in 2001 in Los Angeles by the Actors' Gang. The play was produced in New York at the Soho Playhouse where it ran for 450 performances and was voted among the top ten plays of the year by Time Out NY magazine, and received a Drama Desk nomination. Subsequently, the play has been performed in over 55 cities in eight countries receiving numerous accolades and awards.

Daniel Pearce plays the Librarian. Making his GeVa Theatre Center debut, Mr. Pearce is a Brighton native, currently based in New York, who most recently appeared on Broadway in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at Circle in the Square. He has performed regularly with NY Shakespeare Festival at The Public Theatre and at regional theatres around the country. Mr. Pearce's film credits include the forthcoming release of Salt, starring Angelina Jolie.

Underneath the Lintel is directed by Padraic Lillis. A Fairport native, currently based in New York, Mr. Lillis is a company member of the LAByrinth Theater. He is an adjunct professor with the Department of Dramatic Writing at NYU and Artist-in-Residence with Alchemy Theater.

The design team includes Lea Umberger (Scenic Designer), Amanda Doherty (Costume Designer), Derek Madonia (Lighting Designer) and Ian Hildreth (Sound Designer).

Underneath the Lintel opens on February 5 and runs in the Mainstage through
March 7.
