Michael Gennaro will serve as the new executive director of the Trinity Repertory Company in Providence, RI. He will begin in February of 2007.

Gennaro, who recently left his position as president and CEO of the Paper Mill Playhouse in Milburn, NJ, succeeds Edgar Dubie (who left in September and who is now executive producer of The Pirate Queen).

Trinity Rep artistic director Curt Columbus stated: "I am particularly delighted that Michael will be joining Trinity Rep as our executive director, as we already have an excellent working relationship in place from our years together at Steppenwolf.  I have long been an admirer of his ability to bring regional theatre companies to both a national and international spotlight."   Gennaro worked as executive director at the Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago for seven years prior to joining Paper Mill.  At the time, Columbus was that theatre's associate artistic director.

Gennaro, who has also worked as an actor and entertainment attorney, has also held management positions with the George Street Playhouse, Ford's Theatre and the Pennsylvania Ballet.
