Deadline reports that Broadway's Okieriete Onaodowan has been cast as a series regular in ABC's upcoming GREY'S ANATOMY spin-off. The HAMILTON star joins Grey Damon, Danielle Savre, Jaina Lee Ortiz, Jason George and Barrett Doss in the series. The 10-episode drama, from 'GREY's creator Shonda Rhimes centers on a group of heroic firefighters.

Written by Stacy McKee, the show will be set in a Seattle firehouse and will follow "the brave men and women who risk their lives and their hearts both in the line of duty and off the clock." Onaodowan will portray firefighter Lieutenant Dean. The characters will be introduced in an upcoming episode of GREY'S ANATOMY this fall. The new series is scheduled to premiere midseason.

Okieriete 'Oak' Onaodowan originated the roles of Hercules Mulligan and James Madison in Broadway's Tony-winning musical HAMILTON. He most recently appeared on Broadway in the role of Pierre in NATASHA, PIERRE AND THE GREAT COMET OF 1812, replacing Josh Groban. His TV credits include Netflix's THE GET DOWN and HBO's BALLERS.
