The York Theater Developmental Series will present a free reading of Plastic! The Musical.

Plastic! is "the greatest, funniest and most shocking love story between a one-armed janitor and a buxom starlet named Tallulah Bombolino. Together they defy a vicious world of scathing perverts and gross tyrants. The songs are fireball pop anthems and the story is a kiss and a blow to the head. Scaredy-cats beware: this show involves, ill-disposed underwear models, a magic 8-ball, tiramisu and a bloody hatchet!," as described in press materials.

The musical, which was the a recipient of a 2006 Daryl Roth Award, features book and lyrics by Robert Maddock (2007 Jonathan Larson Award; 2007 Backstage Bistro Award) and music by Joe Iconis (2007 Ed Kleban Award; 2007 Backstage Bistro Award; 2006 Jonathan Larson Award) and Reza Jacobs (ASCAP Fredrick Lowe Award) and is directed by John Simpkins (Things To Ruin: The Songs of Joe Iconis at Joe's Pub, Ars Nova, and NYMF; Go-Go Beach at NYMF.)

The cast features Jerry Dixon, Matt Hinkley, Nancy Johnston, Scott Robertson, Lorinda Lisitza, Lance Rubin, Jason F. Williams, and Heléne Yorke.
