In his theatrical debut, playwright and director Geve Penn brings his two-act food service drama Finn's to New York audiences for a one-day-only staged reading, presented on Saturday, May 16 at 3:00pm at Purgatory (675 Central Ave, Brooklyn, NY).

Finn's is a two-act kitchen sink drama, taking place in an Irish bar somewhere in a St. Louis-adjacent Midwestern town. Shift lead and occasional photographer KC takes new hire Lou in under his wing on her first day at the titular bar, butting heads with his general manager Derek with each twist and turn. When KC's ex appears in his life once more, old wounds reopen and long-abandoned dreams resurface with each newly-poured drink. Just about everything that could possibly go wrong in the span of a single food service shift goes wrong in this kitchen sink drama.

The staff at Finn's must navigate through work/life balance, expressions of masculinity, and existing in predominantly white spaces as people of color, all before closing up for the night. This piece is made by and dedicated to artists who are hustling in the food service industry.

The cast features Luis Trinidad, Elliot Hoke, Luca Schultze, Caroline Younglove, Lauren Robinson, Nick Valenti Gonzalez, Anushka Savale, and Leo Merrick, with Nii Adu Clerk reading stage directions. This reading is stage managed by Angie Etwarroo, and co-produced by Rose Gonzales, Penn, and Clerk.

The performance runs for 2 hours, with a 10-minute intermission. Tickets can be purchased at Purgatory's website.
