Nutcracker Dance Party with the Experiential Orchestra December 1st, 2018 at the Bohemian National Hall (321 E. 73rd Street, NY, NY 10021) 3:30pm (Kids with Adult Dancing Companions); 7:30pm (Adults only with full cash bar)

Have you always wanted to dance to Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker with a symphony orchestra? Now is your chance!

Whether you danced ballet as a child or have never set foot in pointe shoes, EXO is expanding the magical experience of the Nutcracker as they invite the audience to dance to the complete ballet with a live symphony orchestra of top-level freelancers. (Experiential Orchestra draws from New York freelancers who also perform as subs with the New York Philharmonic and Metropolitan Opera Orchestra among others).

While dancing is encouraged and celebrated, in costume or not, seating is also available for those that prefer to play the role of Marie and Fritz in the second act (as they watch the character dances from the side of the stage), and in true EXO fashion, seats are also available inside the orchestra with a premium ticket.

Holiday-themed attire and ballet costumes welcome but not required.

Music Director James Blachly says "these days we crave full-body experiences, opportunities to get swept up in a magical world of sound and dance. If you grew up dancing, or if you've always wanted to combine the feeling of letting it go on the dance floor with your favorite holiday tradition, this is your chance!"

Blachly adds, "we usually experience the Nutcracker as a beautiful, distant vision. For these two concerts, EXO invites you to lose yourself fully in the music, dancing to the Trepak and Sugarplum Fairies and more, letting yourself become a dancer in Tchaikovsky's most famous ballet."

With their Smyth Recording Project underway, the 2018-19 Season of the Experiential Orchestra focuses on two signature events: The Nutcracker Dance Party and the Rite of Spring Dance Party (presented with Young Patrons of Lincoln Center in April).
