The Planet Connections Theatre Festivity Gala 'One Acts for a Cause' is set for tonight, June 16 at 7:30pm at the Alice Griffin Jewelbox Theatre in the Pershing Square Signature Center. The evening will raise funds for the non-profit Safe Horizon and showcase three new one-act plays by acclaimed playwrights Neil LaBute, John Patrick Shanley and Winter Miller (Neil LaBute and Winter Miller's pieces will be world premieres).

Oscar-winner and film, stage and TV star Estelle Parsons (Bonnie & Clyde, Roseanne and on Broadway Nice Work If You Can Get It and August: Osage County) and two-time Tony Award-nominee Celia Keenan-Bolger (Peter and the Starcatcher, ...Spelling Bee) will star in Neil LaBute's one act Over the River and Through the Woods; Broadway's Jenni Barber (The Nance, The Performers, Spelling Bee) and Krystina Alabado(American Idiot, National Tour of Spring Awakening) will star in Winter Miller's one-act This Is How We Do It; Ivette Dumeng and Dustin Kerns will star in John Patrick Shanley's one-act Tennessee.

The evening will raise funds for the non-profit Safe Horizon, the leading victim services agency in the United States. Tickets are $150 (orchestra) &$100 (mezzanine) and can currently be purchased online at www.PlanetConnections.org. There will also be a panel with Safe Horizon immediately following the performance.

The Planet Connections Theatre Festivity is New York's premiere eco-friendly/socially-conscious theatre, music and film festival and will run fromMay 29-June 23 at the Robert Moss Theatre (440 Lafayette Street) and the Gene Frankel Theatre (24 Bond Street).

Neil LaBute's one-act Over the River and Through the Woods will feature direction from Glory Kadigan (Founder & Producing Artistic Director of Planet Connections); John Patrick Shanley's one-act Tennessee will feature direction from Lori Kee and was originally produced in 2012 by the Nylon Fusion Company; Winter Miller's one-act This Is How We Do It will feature direction from Gaye Taylor Upchurch. The creative team will includeJenna R. Lazar (Stage Manager), Neil Patel (Set Design), Izzy Fields (Costume Design), Christopher Weston (Lighting Designer) and Jacob Subotnick (Sound Designer).

'One Acts for a Cause' the Planet Connections Theatre Festivity Gala will take place on Sunday, June 16 at 7:30pm at the Alice Griffin Jewelbox Theatre in the Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street). Tickets are $150 (orchestra) & $100 (mezzanine) and can be purchased online at www.PlanetConnections.org.

Fostering a diverse cross-section of performances and events, the Planet Connections Theatre Festivity seeks to inspire artists and audiences both creatively and fundamentally, in a festive atmosphere. At the heart of the Festivity are like-minded individuals striving to create professional, meaningful theatre, music and film, while supporting organizations which give back to the community at large.
