"Empty Space Ensemble" invades The Knitting Factory for a one night only fundraising event complete with drinking, dancing, and live music on Monday February 11th. Cast members from Wicked, Cry Baby, Gypsy, The Lion King, and more will be screaming out love songs all night in honor of Valentine's Day. Greg Brown, who music directs the evening, will lead the band in a diverse set list that ranges from Whitesnake to Whitney Houston in the Tap Room, which also features over 18 beers on tap.

Talent for the evening includes: Carly Jibson (Hairspray, Cry Baby), Brad Bass (Wicked), Sean Bradford (The Lion King), Michael Buchanan (Cry Baby), Nancy Braun (Lupone's Gypsy), Travis Greisler (The Who's Tommy, Les Miz), Auri Marcus (NYMF Idol Finalist), Rachel Frankenthal (Chicago's 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), Chris Yonan, and Claire Wilmoth

Proceeds from the evening will benefit the ESE'S Young Writer's Forum, which is an intiative to foster the development and growth of new works by young composers.  The forum will launch in March 2008. This show is All Ages.  Doors open at 9pm and tickets are only $10 (available online at knittingfactory.com or at the door).  The Knitting Factory is loacted at 74 Leonard St (between Church and Broadway)

Empty Space provides unique performance opportunities for young, emerging artists.  The ensemble seeks to discover new mediums of artistic expression through the exploration of new works and the re-imagining of established material.  Future projects include the development of new theatrical works via a monthly forum for composers and playwrights.  More information is available at: www.emptyspaceensemble.com
