Elijah Wood, Rosie Perez and Amber Tamblyn are a few of the stars confirmed to perform in the 9th annual "The 24 Hour Plays" on Broadway, to be presented November 9 at the American Airlines Theatre. Each year, the event raises money for the Urban Arts Partnership, an organization that brings vital arts education programs into New York City public school classrooms.

Warren Leight, David Lindsay-Abaire, and Nathan Jackson constitute some of the the playwrights participating in this year's incarnation of the "24 Hour Plays." Additionally, the evening will include contributions from A Camp, comprised of Nina Persson and Nathan Larson. Announcements concerning additional contributors and performers are forthcoming.

This unique project commences the night before the performance with a group of six writers, six directors, 24 actors, two musical guests, and a production crew. Each writer is given the task of writing a ten-minute play by 7 AM the following morning at which point the directors select their piece. The casts then meet for the first time at 8 AM, rehearse over the next 12 hours and at 8:00 PM, the six new plays and musical acts are performed.
