EDINBURGH 2017: BWW Q&A - Trashed Image

Tell us a bit about Trashed.

Trashed is a grimy one-man show about alcoholic bin man, Keith 'Goody' Goodman. It's a highly physical powerhouse of a play that will make you laugh until you cry. Also, there's LOTS of drinking!

What was the inspiration behind the play?

The character was originally inspired by a real-life bin man and wondering what his life was like away from his work. As the character developed, the plot took on a life of its own and began to cover many topics organically. Ultimately, the main driving force behind writing the piece was a desire to put a non-traditional character centre stage and to get audiences to engage and invest in him.

This is your Edinburgh Fringe debut- do you think you know what to expect?

Probably not. We're trying to physically and mentally prepare as much as we can, but I hear it's an emotional rollercoaster ride. We can't wait!

Who would you recommend comes to see Trashed?

People who plan on seeing multiple shows on a given day. It can be hard to watch lots of theatre back to back, but this show is built to be a solid addition to a dedicated audience member's schedule. It's funny, touching and has real dramatic value. We hope to see a broad range of people there; it's accessible without losing its edge.

Are there any other shows you're hoping to see at the festival?

We're going to see as many plays as physically possible! Comedy-wise we like Phil Wang and Laughing Stock, so we're looking forward to seeing their new stuff.

Timings and ticket information for Trashed are available on the edfringe website.
