Tell us a bit about The Audition.

I do auditions. I've done loads. I've made some massive errors in auditions. On the whole my audition 'game' is pretty poor. Ive said weird things in auditions and lost the job. Auditions are job interviews for dickheads. I am a dickhead. They say you should 'write about what you know'. This show is about a dickhead who gets a really big audition land in his lap and his struggle of trying to prepare for it.

Why bring it to Edinburgh?

I love Scotland. I love Edinburgh. I love the festival. Okay, yes, its expensive and I have to work my arse of for months before I get there to make the show good, and my lovely missus has to work even harder than me making sure the kids are looked after all day every day. But for one month we come to a beautiful city where it never rains and the kids have an amazing time and the rent is very reasonable.

What sets it apart from other shows at the Fringe?

Nothing at all. All the other shows are equally as good as mine. But come see mine first then go see another show. Ask me on the way out and I'll give you some recommendations.

Where might we have seen you already?

You might have seen me in the Co-Op in Plumstead. You might have seen me sleeping in my car at 3 in the morning at a motorway service station. You might have seen me having a shower but through frosted glass so you might not have recognised me. Or you might have had me in an audition room and you fancy giving me a second chance.

Who would you recommend comes to see you?

Mums, Dads, Actors and female lady Actors, Guitarists, Mimes, Clowns, Dick heads, Wedding singers, Drug users, Artists, Bob Slayer, who ever is in charge of the country in August, people who let other people borrow their phone charger, Vegans, someone who's had a shitty day or week or year. And my Mum. And your Mum.

Timings and ticket information for The Audition are available on the edfringe website.
