EDINBURGH 2017: BWW Q&A- Snowflake

Tell us a bit about your show.

Snowflake is a one hour play about a young woman who is struggling to cope with the demands of her daily life, it's about how to find human connection and certainty in a universe of endless notifications and conflicting knowledge.

Why bring it to Edinburgh?

We wanted to produce this show at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe because it is one of the largest performing arts festivals in the world and the perfect platform to showcase new talent.

What sets it apart from other shows at the Fringe?

This is a show that features some of the best emerging talent from Scotland's colleges and universities. It has been developed through consultation with young people from across Scotland and brings to light the issues are important to them.

There are quite a lot of plays for 12-18 year olds but very little about 19-24 when they have left school and crossing the border of childhood to adulthood. Millennials are a unique generation growing up in a high stress changing world with social media, job routes etc undergoing great change.

Who would you recommend comes to see you?

Our show speaks to people from all ages and backgrounds. Anyone who recognizes the uncertainty and challenges of modern day living.

Are there any other shows you're hoping to catch at the festival?

We are really looking forward to seeing our fellow co-productions at the Pleasance, as well as our peers from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland who are performing Into the Woods at the Assembly Halls.
