Tell us a bit about your show.

My show is called 'George Egg: DIY Chef' and it's a stand-up comedy show where I cook on stage using tools. In 2015 and 2016 I brought a show to the Fringe called 'Anarchist Cook' where I made a meal using the equipment you'd find in a hotel room and this is a sequel of-sorts to that show (although you don't need to have seen the first one). The stag is set up like a shed and I make a breakfast, a lunch and a dinner using a wallpaper stripper, blow torch, drill, paper shredder, and lots lots more. And then the audience get to eat the food at the end. I make you laugh too while I'm cooking.

Why bring it to Edinburgh?

The success the show I brought in 2015 and 2016 has changed my life. I've toured all over the world with it and it's opened lots of doors to lots of fascinating and bizarre things. It's the most wonderful varied forum in Edinburgh and the audiences are great.

What sets it apart from other shows at the Fringe?

Well, I don't think (I hope anyway) that anyone else is cooking a breakfast, lunch and dinner using tools, so I reckon it's a one-off experience.

Who would you recommend comes to see you?

Anyone who's interested in food, comedy, divergent thinking, resourcefulness, and who likes the surreal, absurd and eclectic.

Are there any other shows you're hoping to catch at the festival?

I'm a huge fan of John Robins, he's had a year off and I think his new show will be great. Likewise with Angela Barnes, she's brilliant too. Chiefly though I'd recommend you get lost and go to someone you've not heard of before. Listen out for a buzz about a new unknown and you're sure to have a great time.
