EDINBURGH 2017: BWW Q&A- Bright Colours Only Image

Tell us a bit about Bright Colours Only.

Many years ago I had a dream I was standing in my coffin waving cheerio to the crowd and wondering why half my friends hadn't shown up. That was the beginning of Bright Colours Only - an Irish wake with tea, sandwiches and a drop of the hard stuff. Sitting silently in a Scottish Crematorium shelter does make an Irish girl homesick...for the finer funerals in life.

Where has the show been so far?

From Belfast to Brazil, Dublin to Dresden, East Kilbride to Estonia, Frankfurt to the Fringe and my pal John's front room in Donegal. When we carried the coffin in, the whole town thought he was dead - he was delighted with all the sympathy cards he got.

Do you think you know what to expect from the Fringe?

No. I think this is my 13th Fringe as a performer - but no - God knows what to expect. My front room is in a shipping container this year, my death robe is a little tighter and my bucket list that wee bit longer. But I might as well do it again. Sure, you're a long time dead.

What makes an Edinburgh audience so special?

Edinburgh Fringe audiences are so special because they are the most international audience you can get and they are the true Olympians of going to see stuff. And if they don't like you, sure you'll never see them again.

Who would you recommend comes to see Bright Colours Only?

This show is only suitable for people who are dying to live.

Timings and ticket information for Bright Colours Only can be found on the edfringe website.
