EDINBURGH 2017: BWW Q&A- All The Fun Image

Tell us a bit about All the Fun

All the Fun is a show that pays homage to what is useless. Juggling is a useless thing, and we wanted to pay homage to this beautiful uselessness, because uselessness is everywhere in our lives, and still is the most precious good those days.

The show happens in a very intimate space, a small circle, with the audience gathered around it and nearly sitting on stage. As if we were around a fire, everyone close to everyone else.

With this intimacy, we can share with people some of the mystical aspects of juggling that is not usually seen in juggling shows. How juggling actually transforms us: how we can one minute be very intensely concentrated, and the next, we are children rolling around the playground Juggling can be so intense and require so much physical involvement that we have the feeling we are deep into some kind of rave or spiritual ritual, where we throw weird plastic objects into the air for no reason.

Why did you decide to bring All the Fun to Edinburgh?

This is our first time going to Edinburgh. We've been thinking of going for a few years now, and it became possible this year. We often tour in French/Belgium public theatres but the Edinburgh Fringe is an opportunity to meet new audiences, and to perform in a context we're not used to.

What sets All the Fun apart from other circus shows at the Fringe?

We haven't seen the other shows so it's impossible to answer this question yet but our show ends with a rain dance that turns into a rave party - it will be fun! Also half of the crew is Flemish!

Who would you recommend All the Fun to?

Donald Trump.

What do you hope audiences will take away?

We hope they experience some joyful feeling of weirdness.

Timings and ticket information for All The Fun are available on the edfringe website.
