EDINBURGH 2016: BWW Q&A - Jenny Collier
BWW speaks to comedian Jenny Collier about her 2016 Edinburgh Fringe show Jen-Hur.
Tell us a bit about Jen-Hur
It has nothing to do with Romans. There's lots of little relatable stories - things that'll make you go, "I'm glad I'm not her", a bit of toilet humour (so childish) and an epiphany about flat shoes.
It's all true, so real-life events are the main inspiration, and stuff that surrounds me e.g. jobs, society, hair. This is your debut at the Edinburgh Fringe - do you think you know what to expect?
I've been coming to Edinburgh Fringe for a few years as an actor and doing shorter shows, so I know the festival pretty well. I've not done a paid venue before, so this will undoubtedly show me a different side of the Fringe.Who would you recommend comes to see Jen-Hur?
There is something for everyone. If you've ever had a job, a family or done a poo, there is something for you. Are there any other acts you¹re hoping to catch at the festival?
David O'Doherty, Phil Kay, Larry Dean, Tamar Broadbent, and if only some more tickets would be released for Stewart Lee and Daniel Kitson, then them. Jenny will be performing 'Jen-Hur' at the Underbelly Med Quad at 5:30pm
throughout August at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Ticket information is available on the edfringe website.
