On Friday, May 28, the Downtown Urban Theater Festival (DUTF) will feature two of its 2010 plays, Lessons on the A Train and Piñero Resurrected, at the 15th Annual Lower East Side Festival of the Arts.

Lessons on the A Train, directed by Tony/Grammy-nominated Reg E. Gaines is an original coming-of-age story about a group of urban teenagers growing up in modern day NYC. This special excerpt will feature lead cast members LeVon Fickling, Julia Falamas, Mike Burch, and dancers Joshua Seignious and Kevin Holmes. Lessons is a new work under development by DUTF.

Piñero Resurrected is an homage to junkie beat poet, Miguel Piñero, told through monologues and recollections of the writer's tumultuous life accompanied by fiery latin percussion starring Ian Gonzalez Phillips and directed by Michele Cuomo.

The excerpts of Lessons on the A Train and Piñero Resurrected are scheduled for Friday May 28, at 7:00pm at Theater For the New City, 155 First Avenue, New York, NY.
