Dossett, Pawk and Others Dance Into Mamma Mia!, Oct. 19

The Broadway company of Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus' smash hit Mamma Mia! will celebrate four years on Broadway on Tuesday, October 18th before welcoming husband and wife Broadway stars John Dossett and Michele Pawk on Wednesday, October 19th to the Cadillac Winter Garden Theatre (1634 Broadway at 50th Street).

Tony Award-winning actress Michele Pawk (Hollywood Arms, Cabaret, Chicago, Bounce) will take over for Carol Linnea Johnson as Donna Sheridan, while her husband, Tony Award-nominated actor John Dossett (The Constant Wife, Gypsy, Democracy) will succeed Peter Kelly Gaudreault Sam Carmichael in the musical; it will mark Pawk's and Dossett's first appearance together since 1993's Hello, Again, the show on which they met.

Carey Anderson, Samantha Eggers, Andy Kelso, Olivia Oguma and Olga Merediz will also join the cast.  Anderson will play young bride Sophie Sheridan, while Kelso will be seen as her fiancé Sky.  Merediz will take over as Rosie, joining Judy McLane, who will continue in the role of Tanya.  Oguma and Eggers will play Ali and Lisa, Sophie's best friends.  David Beach and Mark L. Montgomery continue in the roles of Harry Bright and Bill Austin, who with Sam, are the two other men from Donna's past.  Albert Guerzon and Ben Gettinger will stay on in the roles of Eddie and Pepper, respectively.

Mamma Mia!, which opened on Broadway at the Winter Garden Theatre (1634 Broadway) on October 18th, 2001, has played over 1600 performances in New York and continues to play to full houses. Mamma Mia! takes place on a tiny Greek Island, as a mother and daughter try to settle the girl's paternity before her wedding. The show is set to the songs of ABBA's Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson, with hits including "Dancing Queen," "Money, Money, Money" and "The Winner Takes It All." 


Mamma Mia!'s book is by Catherine Johnson, with direction by Phyllida Lloyd and choreography by Anthony Van Laast. Produced by Judy Craymer, Richard East and Ulvaeus for Littlestar in association with Universal, the musical features production design by Mark Thompson, lighting design by Howard Harrison, sound design by Andrew Bruce and Bobby Aitken and musical supervision, additional material and arrangements by Martin Koch.
