ValueVille, the musical about one man's hellish experience working the night-shift at a giant superstore -- where nothing is what it seems, is an official selection of the 2014 New York Musical Theatre Festival's Next Link Project (NYMF), and starts on July 7th at PTC Performance Space. ValueVille is one of the 10 plays chosen from among the over 250 submissions to this year's festival.

ValueVille is no ordinary place of business and Eddie is about to find out just how different his new place of business is. When he awakes on his first scheduled night-shift assignment, Eddie is desperate for answers as to why Corporate has sent him. Slowly he begins to learn the truth about his past through a series of run-ins with his guarded former flame, the sudden appearance of his flighty grandmother, and his utterly monstrous co-workers.

Written by Rowen Casey, who also provides the music and lyrics, ValueVille marks Drama Desk and OBIE Award-winning actress, Donna Lynne Champlin's directorial debut (Working: A Musical, The Dark At The Top of the Stairs, The Dead, By Jeeves, Hollywood Arms, Sweeney Todd,). She is joined by ARTIE Award-winning choreographer, Jeffry Denman (Naked Boys Singing!, Bullet for Adolph, Yank! An American in Paris, Into the Woods ); multiple award-winning musical director, Ryan Cantwell (A Helluva Life, Liz Swados' The Nomad); 2014 USITT Scenic Design Award-winner Patrick Rizzotti; lighting designer, Cory Pattak (Newsies, Peter and the Starcatcher); costume designer Caitlin Conci (Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812); stage manager Rebecca McBee and general manager Lisa Dozier. Casting was handled by Michael Cassara, CSA.

ValueVille's ensemble cast includes celebrated actress NaTasha Yvette Williams (A Night With Janis Joplin, Porgy and Bess, Gone With the Wind at the West End, The Color Purple), as Sharonda; Patti Allison (Orpheus Descending on Broadway), as Grandma Ruth; Wade McCollum (Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Cabaret, Jersey Boys), as Don; with newcomers David Spadora as Eddie, Emily Koch as Meg, and Lara Hughes as Stacy. Rounding out the cast are Stephanie Fittro (Legally Blonde), as the Pregnant Lady and Willie Dee (Shrek), as Floyd.

With a spirited contemporary score as colorful as the dubious band of characters employed at ValueVille, this musical is a razor-sharp comedic journey about the price you pay at the final checkout.

The show runs at PTC Performance Space, 555 West 42nd Street, New York, NY 10036. Running time: 100 minutes (no intermission). Tickets are available by calling: 212-352-3101.
