Diocesan Theater Guild Hosts Gala Reunion at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Today

By:

The first ever official reunion for the Diocesan Theater Guild (DTG) will take place today, April 13, 2013 at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs in Forest Hills. Msgr. Joseph Funaro, the founder and force behind the DTG will be in attendance, and hopes many of the over 1200 involved actors, stagehands, lighting and sound staff, box office staff, ushers and publicity crew will attend this once-in-a-lifetime event.

The brainchild of a few former members of the DTG who have gotten back in touch via Facebook, the reunion will include food and drink for all attendees, and a piano bar for those who would like to reminisce musically. With the goal of getting back together, no long program has been planned, and it is anticipated that former members will spend the evening catching up with old friends.

DTG alumni who wish to attend can register to the website www.dtgreunion.com and, once provided access, pay for the reunion right on the site. April 1st is the deadline, so you must act quickly.

The Diocesan Theater Guild started in 1975 with The Music Man, and followed with various shows through 1997. Performances were held in various years at Christ the King High School, St. John's High School (formerly Mater Christi), and Bishop Ford in Brooklyn. Anyone who was involved with the DTG is invited to register for the website, even if they cannot attend the reunion, and join the Facebook group.
