Symphony Space has announced several casting updates for award winning Selected Shorts Performances. Scheduled guests are as follows:
Wednesday, January 26th at 7pm Haiti Noir, with Edwidge Danticat
Anika Noni Rose (star of the film Dreamgirls and Tony winner for Caroline, or Change) will perform new stories by Edwidge Danticat and Mark Kurlansky from the powerful new anthology collected by the award-winning Haitian-American author of The Dew Breaker and Brother, I'm Dying.
Wednesday, February 16th at 7pm Russian Tales, Classic and New with Anya Ulinich and Keith Gessen
Denis O'Hare (True Blood and Take Me Out) and
Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur) others perform luminous classic tales and exciting new stories from the latest emerging Russian writers
Wednesday, March 16th at 7pm 40th Anniversary Celebration of Hunter S. Thompson's Fear and Loathing in Las VegasAn all-star cast including Academy Award-winning actor BENICIO DEL TORO (Traffic) who played Dr. Gonzo in the classic film and

Spellbinding short stories by established and emerging writers take on a new life when they are performed by stars of the stage and screen. Whether we present stories around a lively theme, the favorite works of a guest author or a special collaboration with a museum or publication, each Selected Shorts event is a unique night of literature in performance. Hosted by Isaiah Sheffer.
