The December 16th edition of PBS' "Theater Talk" will feature hosts Michael Reidel and Susan Haskins, as well as guest stars Douglas Carter Beane and Robert Hofler, chatting on the subject of closeted stars.

Carter Beane (As Bees in Honey Drown) is the author of The Little Dog Laughed, a Hollywood satire currently in previews at Second Stage Theatre. One of the play's characters is--naturally--a closeted gay star. Hofler recently penned a new biography of Rock Hudson, another star who only emerged from the closet years after becoming a movie matinee idol (and who died tragically of AIDS in 1985).

In addition, this week's "Theater Talk" will feature a celebration of the show's 10th anniversary on PBS as its hosts, The New York Post's Reidel and producer Haskins, submit to an interview by Marcelo Picalomino. Theatre critics John Simon, Michael Sommers and David Cote will also stop in for appearances.

The Little Dog Laughs will run through January 29th at Second Stage; the show is directed by Scott Ellis (12 Angry Men, The Boys from Syracuse).

The latest episode of "Theater Talk" will ais on Thirteen, tonight at 12:30 AM and Monday, Dec. 19 at 5 AM.  It will also air on CUNY-TV (channel 75) on Saturday, Dec. 24 at 8:30 PM, Sunday, Dec. 25 at 12:30 PM, as well as Monday, Dec. 26 at 7:30 AM, 1:30 PM and 7:30 PM.

Next week on Thirteen, "Theater Talk" will feature Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, librettists of the hit musical Jersey Boys, and a special holiday musical performance by Judy Kaye and Donald Corren of Souvenir.
