Variety is reporting that David Cromer will direct the upcoming Broadway revivals of "Brighton Beach Memoirs" and "Broadway Bound."

Producer Emanuel Azenberg had previously said that Daniel Sullivan would direct the plays, although no deal had been in place at the time. No official reason for the switch was given by a rep for the productions

Cromer has found success in New York theatre circles since his staging of recent musical "The Adding Machine" that played Off Broadway last season.

The revivals of "Brighton" and "Broadway," two autobiographical comedies by Neil Simon, will begin rehearsal in summer and start perfs in the fall.

The shows will run in rep, although "Brighton" will likely begin performances first with "Broadway" joining the schedule in subsequent weeks details Variety.

David Cromer's hit Chicago production of Thornton Wilder's "Our Town" is set for an Off-Broadway run at the Barrow Street Theatre later this season.

New York version of Cromer's heavily conceptual "Our Town," which stars the director himself in the role of the narrator. This production of "Our Town" was first produced last May in the basement of Chicago's Chopin Theatre in Wicker Park by the theater company known as The Hypocrites".
