David Alan Grier, set to co-star in David Mamet's upcoming RACE on Broadway, will host book signings of his new book "Barack Like Me: The Chocolate-Covered Truth" at Bookends in Ridgewood, New Jersey at 7pm on Tuesday, October 6 and Barnes & Noble-Tribeca in New York City at 7pm on Wednesday, October 7.

In the book, which will be published officially next month, Grier examines upon what politics, culture, and race mean today, while recounting relevant experiences from his life.

Grier's previous Broadway credits include: THE FIRST, DREAMGIRLS, and A FUNNY THING HAPPENE ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM. His many film and television credits include: "Streamers," "In Living Color," "Damon," and "The Bonnie Hunt Show."

Previews for RACE beginon Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre, with an opening night on Thursday, December 6, 2009. Rehearsals are set to begin on Monday, October 19, 2009.

For RACE, David Mamet will again collaborate with Tony Award winning scenic designer Santo Loquasto who designed the set for the revival of GELNGARRY GLen Ross as well as the original AMERICAN BUFFALO. Tony Award winning Brian MacDevitt, who recently worked on SPEED-THE-PLOW and AMERICAN BUFFALO will be the lighting designer. Costumes will be designed by Tony Award nominee Paul Tazewell, whose recent credits include GUYS AND DOLLS, IN THE HEIGHTS and A RAISIN IN THE SUN.

RACE will be the fourth Mamet play to play at the Barrymore Theatre and the third consecutive season for the Barrymore to be home to a Mamet play.
