Dan Lauria and Patty McCormack to Perform JUST ANOTHER DAY on 3-City Ireland Tour
The MAISIE Productions play will stop at Dublin's Royal College of Physicians, University of Galway, and MTU Cork
Two Broadway and TV veterans, Dan Lauria and Patty McCormack, will travel to Ireland in May for a 3-city tour of "Just Another Day", focused on Aging with Empathy.
Dan Lauria (The Wonder Years, Lombardi and Jefferson & Sons) is the author and co-star of "Just Another Day" with Patty McCormack (The Bad Seed and Sopranos). Their characters are senior performing arts professionals now located at a facility for dementia, where they meet afresh every day at a bench.
The actors are donating their services to present this moving play in Dublin at the Royal College of Physicians Ireland, at the University of Galway and at the MTU Cork School of Music to raise awareness of the challenges of aging in our societies. Students, theater professionals, medical practitioners and educators will be attending these 3 no fee performances and dialoguing with leaders in the aging field in Ireland.
Just Another Day explores the themes of memory, ageing, loneliness and human connection, offering a deeply moving yet uplifting portrayal of the everyday challenges faced in later life.
The play uses storytelling and character‑driven narrative to highlight issues that are central to public health and community medicine, creating an accessible, emotionally engaging lens into complex social and healthcare themes. Developed as part of an ongoing commitment to arts‑based public engagement, the play is designed to spark reflection and conversation among diverse audiences-including healthcare professionals, carers, policymakers, patients, and members of the public. Its intention is not only to present high‑quality theatre but also to prompt deeper consideration of how ageing is experienced, understood, and supported across Irish society.
Elliott and Cathy Masie from MASIE Productions (Allegiance, The Prom, SpongeBob and Gold Mountain) are thrilled to bring Dan Lauria and Patty McCormack to Ireland for these performances. In addition, Graham Russell (Air Supply) has written and donated a song for the play.
